I believe the first step in attempting to reduce any issues that may be creating difficulties in your life is to find a clinician with whom you feel comfortable with and can connect to. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who understands that this is a necessary part of the therapy process. I appreciate and realize how hard it can be to make that initial move of scheduling an appointment, and I want to help you in any way I can throughout this process.
Not only do I recognize the importance of a good client/therapist relationship, but I also use a number of different approaches in assisting my clients. I utilize an integrative approach, and use Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic, and Psychodynamic orientations. I find it useful to lessen symptomology initially and then start exploring other areas that may be impacting functioning. My work with every client is unique to that individual and my therapy is very client dependent. I strive to work with clients and really listen to their needs and concerns.
Some of the issues I work with are anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, relationship problems, low self-esteem, and anger. However, I deal with many other difficulties as well and am more than happy to help you explore what is going on.
